Hi, I’m Kendal Flynn. I write romantic suspense because I love a good heart-pounding romance mixed in with heart-pounding action. What else do I like? A tough guy who has a soft spot for children. Alex Dante, the hero of my novel Loose Cannon, will sacrifice everything and anything to rescue a child in danger. When Raeanne’s son is kidnapped by Russian criminals eager to exact revenge for her role in bringing down their operation, he springs into action, guns blazing, determined to do whatever is necessary to bring her boy back home safe.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the strong alpha protective male, the feats of strength and derring-do, the adrenaline junkie and all the rest. I love it. But you know what really wins my heart forever? A man who’s just as good with children as he is with the heroine. I don’t know what to say—I have a soft spot. Perhaps it is the mix of protectiveness and elite kick-ass competence, but coupled with an ability to connect, love, and care for somethings so precious and so vulnerable that really tugs on my heartstrings.
I’m a total sucker for a tough-guy hero with a soft underbelly when it comes to the heroine or to children. Always have been. Always will be.
Here’s more on Loose Cannon:
This time, the op was different. This time, they had her son…
When Raeanne Springfield’s son is kidnapped by Dmitryi Petrov, a ruthless enemy from the past, Raeanne finds herself thrown back into the dark world of covert operations she thought she left behind. But when Alex Dante, her former superior at the Counterintelligence Defense Agency, shows up to take her into protective custody, Raeanne’s backed into a corner. Should she obey orders from an agency that already betrayed her once, or slip back into the covert life and do whatever it takes to bring her boy home safely?
Harder still—how can she tell Alex Dante that Ryan’s his son?
Between Petrov’s demands, the agency’s evasiveness, and Alex’s whirlwind reentry into her life, Raeanne can trust no one but herself, and only after she gets Ryan back will she worry about fixing past mistakes. If she lives long enough to fix anything…
